TOP 25! Colby Selected As Semi-Finalist
On April 5, the official semi-finalists for the 2012 Songwriter Serenade were selected to compete in a live performance competition in Moravia, Texas. The competition, which starts at 11 AM on Saturday, May 5, will feature twenty-five top-notch singer/songwriters, including our own Colby Miller.
This all-day event will take place at the historic Moravia Parish Hall in Moravia, Texas – a classic wooden venue with an elevated stage. The Parish Hall is surrounded by an oak-studded picnic area. There will be food and beverage concessions on site.
Beginning at 11 AM, all semi-finalists will play an original song. Three judges will narrow the field to the top 12, and after a break for lunch, the final round of will begin at 2:30 PM, in which the remaining finalists will play two more original songs. Judges will vote on the winner. The award ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM.
Nearly 150 total entries were submitted nationwide, and states represented by the top 25 include Texas, California, Tennessee, and Virginia.
The winner not only secures the cash grand prize but also will receive a showcase opportunity at the 2013 International Folk Alliance Conference held February 20-24, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
